reconfigured emergence
not oblivious to othering
i
became
undone
the soft voice within said
breathe dahlin’ breathe
i paused
noticing the holding of my breath
then exhaled
deeply
a letting go of lifetimes
of held breath and tongue
and within this release
came relief
an expansion of being
in connection
and care
with the ancients
and cosmic spheres
now play sweet thang
play
so i grabbed the device
to explore and create
reassembling
from the outside in
and it was here for me to see
the sacred shapes revealed
within the skin
the hair
the eyes and mouth
power and poise
potentiality and persistence
peace and purpose
beyond linear time
and space
my spirit unearthed
a new me birthed
a reconfigured emergence
between these hands
memory
matter
movement
what has been given
what has been gathered
what is still becoming
between these hands
something shifts
something remembered
something imagined
something not yet known
finds its way through
i make
and in making
something makes me
something i did not know i was carrying
something i did not know i was waiting for
takes form
what was
meets
what might be
between these hands
come closer to what you asked for
for the ones who have learned
how to be a place others land
being needed
is not the same as
being known
now
you circle
round and round
for a place to fold your wings
and lay your head
you will be fine
you got this
you are strong
you always figure it out
the familiar chorus chimes
true
all of this
and still
the weight of it
is a lot
let it rest for a moment
the ancestors whisper
in arms
that remember how to hold
without asking anything of you
here
there is no need to explain
no need to
prove
you have done enough already
nothing taken
nothing demanded
held
